Dear All
This report was read to the school in assembly by Georgre Greenaway! He got a round of applause! Imagine the response next week when he reads about our win!!!
Football Report:
It was a historic moment for Shiplake College when its U12 side took to the field for their football fixture versus the Dolphin School’s U12 team.
Dolphin took an early lead with the Shiplake team struggling to adapt to their new positions. Steadily Shiplake became more disciplined and began to dominate the play. Jonathan Meadows produced an inch-perfect through-ball to give Henry Foster the opportunity to level the scores. Then, with half-time approaching, Sam Gipple volleyed Shiplake into a 2 -1 lead with a shot from the far post.
Six substitutions at half-time, to give every one of the squad a game, disrupted Shiplake’s rhythm and goal-keeper Liam Peachey soon found himself peppered with shots and forced into making a succession of great saves. Increasingly Dolphin piled on the pressure, particularly after Tom Dale had limped off with a hamstring injury. In a game of two halves, Shiplake conceded three second-half goals as the Dolphin School scored to a 4 – 2 victory.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported. We have another match this Wednesday.
