Rugby: U13A v Claires Court

U13A v Claires Court On Saturday morning the U13s, fresh from a 10 all draw with LVS Ascot, set off for Claires Court confident of another good performance. However a slow start against a well drilled and efficient team saw us 10-0 down inside five minutes, exactly what we didn’t want. However our heads didn’t drop and we rallied with an excellent display which saw us camped in the Claires Court 22 for 10 minutes. Some penetrating runs from Matthew Dalrymple, Tomas Gorringe and both Luke and William Mullin got us to within a metre of their line but their defence was excellent and held us out. 10-0 to them at half time. The second half began as the first had with us conceding early to go 15-0 down but we continued to press and as the opposition pack tired our forwards really came into the game and we deserved a try, but sadly it didn’t come. Final score Claires Court 15 Shiplake 0. A great effort and plenty to build on ahead of today’s game against Cokethorpe. Thank you to Mr Kersey for all his hard work in training.
