Warwick Castle Trip - Weds 21st November
The History department took the year 7 boys on a visit to Warwick Castle on Wednesday 21st November. Despite the awful rain everyone had a great time. We had a tour of the castle by one of their guides and she was able to show us how clever the design of the outer walls were. We then got to speak to a weapons expert and tried out some of the weapons for ourselves! After enjoying the various exhibitions we got to explore the castle walls and pretend that we were soldiers defending the castle – it took us 536 steps to get just half way around. Then we ventured into the dungeons for a scary yet fun look at the way life would have been for people who lived in the Middle Ages. Mrs Stratton got tried as a witch and Mr Morgan got his ear chopped off! Before we left for home we were lucky to see a birds of prey exhibition, where a barn owl and an eagle owl showed off their hunting skills to the crowd. A really fun day out for all!
